Historically a premier destination for ice trekking, ice trekking on the frontal sector is currently closed/restricted by CONAF for safety reasons; access is limited to viewpoint trails. The route begins in a forest of ancient pine and hemlock, draped in Spanish moss, before transitioning to the famous viewpoint across the ravine.
