Soaring, 10,000-foot granite peaks (Mount Owen, Teewinot, and the Grand Teton itself) wall you in on both sides as you hike alongside the roaring, aquamarine Cascade Creek through thick forests and wide avalanche debris fields that are prime habitats for moose, pika, and bears.

Once past the stairs, the valley opens into a pastoral world of historic mountain inns, chapels, and soaring vertical limestone walls.
