The Giant of St. Kitts. Mount Liamuiga (1,156m) is a massive stratovolcano that dominates the northern half of St. Kitts. Formerly known as Mount Misery, the hike to the summit is a steep, strenuous scramble through lush rainforest and elfin forest to reach the edge of a massive, half-mile wide volcanic crater. From the rim, you are rewarded with panoramic views of the entire island and the neighboring islands of St. Eustatius and Saba.

HikeMetrics Hazard Scale — Explanation
The HikeMetrics Hazard Scale is a proprietary 5-point classification system that evaluates hiking routes across five dimensions: physical demand, technical complexity, altitude exposure, weather risk, and rescue accessibility.
Unlike generic star ratings, the Hazard Scale is calibrated against altitude profiles, elevation gain per day, and logistical isolation factors — making it the most precise route classification system available.
